Suzie & Jesse // Vermont Wedding

When Suzie and Jesse met online in 2020, not even COVID could stall their love story. Though they were both local to the Boston area, they were “long distance” for a period of time until they could comfortably start seeing each other in person. Such early challenges would probably fizzle out many romances, but the way these two clicked was proof that they were supposed to be together, through it all.

For their wedding day, the couple planned to have their festivities at Scott Farm Orchard near Jesse’s hometown in Vermont. Nestled in the mountains, the orchard shows off all of Vermont’s natural beauty. Suzie and Jesse really loved that the space was beautiful and still felt low-key. After getting ready at the Sugar House and Naulakha buildings, we strolled along the ancient rhododendrons for their first look before taking group photos in the garden. The ceremony took place next to the pond, with lush Deer Ridge Farm floral installations on the arbor. A close friend presided over the ceremony, and Suzie and Jesse shared absolutely tear-jerker vows. They had experienced some true losses leading up to their wedding, and the strength of their love was palpable as they promised themselves to each other.

The cocktail hour took place by the farm stand with casual picnic tables scattered about and bistro lights floating overhead. Then came the reception! With Jesse’s background in the food service industry, his friends and co-workers actually prepared and served the food and beverages for the day. These kinds of connections really made the day feel personal and special. During the speeches, I learned so much about this couple and how much their loved ones admire them. Suzie’s brother shared so many stories of being completely in awe of his sister, and one of Jesse’s close friends began by sharing hilarious photos from their college days but ended by repeating “You’re just going to be the best dad.”

After dinner, Scott Farm’s fresh cider donuts were served as the dancing started to ramp up. DJ Chris Costello got everybody out on the dance floor in no time. I had a blast capturing the guests’ antics, especially once the glow sticks and silly glasses started making the rounds. I took the newlyweds outside for a brief round of sunset photos, and the cotton candy sky did not disaspoint! When we returned, Suzie had an outfit change moment where she switched into a sassy little sequined dress and sneakers.

Suzie and Jesse’s Vermont wedding was just beautiful - a true celebration of their love and new life together. Congratulations to this fabulous couple!
